Holly House Farm Cottages

holiday lets with stunning views of nidderdale

Three cosy self catering cottages located in Darley, North Yorkshire. Whatever the weather our views are uninterrupted, close enough to attend conferences in Harrogate and still enjoy relaxing in the countryside with our local pub and restaurant just a short walk away.  In Spring we are lucky to be a great place to spot and listen to the unusual calls of the Curlews which nest locally in the fields around us.

Recently modernised with  well laid out separate decking with ample seating per cottage to enjoy the elevated view, a lower grassed area is also available for guests to enjoy with space for children to play.
We are the perfect spot for walkers with a large number of local walks, reservoirs and trust properties to explore. A dog friendly property with private parking on site.

We're Sarah and Marc

with mini human co-hosts Bella and Louis

Marc and I have been running the cottages since 2017, they were previously converted and operated as cottages by the late Mary Owen, Marcs mum.

Originally the cottage building was a barn which Mary changed to make 3 separate dwellings so others could enjoy our views and an abundance of countryside wildlife around us.

Marc works behind the cottages in his workshop whilst myself and the kids assist with our guests. Louis is often up for entertaining young guests or has also been known to throw a ball or for four legged guests. Bella not so much these days as she's pre-teen but can be seen occasionally dancing and with a bit of coaxing does get involved.

The Wellington Inn

Just a 10 minute walk away further down the hill is The Wellington Inn which is a dog friendly pub and restaurant, throughout the summer months there is ample seating outside if you don't want to sit inside.

The menu is traditional with usually a great choice on the specials board of fish, meat and vegetarian options.  They offer breakfast, lunch and dinner options with dinner served from 6.00pm and a take-out menu also.

Explore the cave, watch a movie and eat.

A favourite with Bella and Louis, they've done the caves many a time but they enjoy going to have a bite to eat and love the shop with all the variety of crystals.

The food is reasonably priced and the caves are great to explore if you've not done it before. They have recently introduced having afternoon tea down in the caves.

LOCAL WALKS

You can never put a price on an moment, each moment only happens once.

There are so many gorgeous places surrounding us for walks in nature, just a short walk from the cottages you can start at Darley Beck before walking along the river and enjoying unspoilt natural beauty.

We are lucky enough to have wild deer, curlews, kestrels, buzzards, red kites, otters, kingfishers and dragonflies to name a few of the what you may encounter. With a labyrinth of public pathways around the cottages or a few miles away Brimham Rocks, various reservoir's and Fountains abbey there is so much to see.
