The curlews are back and nesting in the fields surrounding us filling the sky with the various calls that they make, they are fabulous to watch and hear calling to each other. They are currently classified as in the red category under the Birds of Conservation Concern, we are lucky that they choose our local fields to come and nest.
As ground nesting birds through Spring and early Summer when visiting you may see various signs asking to keep dogs on leads and to be cautious when walking through the public walkways for this very reason and so not to disturb them.
